OBSERVATION IN DOMINICAN SCHOOL OF MANILA

Pedagogical Contents The teaching method that I observed during my time at DSM was classical learning with the teacher as the center of learning. The learning implementation procedure consists of Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate.  Learning in class begins with prayer then the teacher reviews the previous material and the teacher will explain the material to be learned using powerpoint.

Monday, September 18th, 2023 is the first day I went to DSM school. Dominican School of Manila (DSM) is a private school located near the UST campus. In DSM itself there are various levels of schools starting from Nursery, Kindergarten, Grade levels 1-12. DSM is the partner school where I will teach. While at DSM I have a Cooperating Teacher who will help and direct me while teaching at DSM. We departed from the Dormitory at 07.00 then we attended the morning ceremony at school. After that, I followed my cooperating teacher to enter the class. I was placed in Grade Levels 1 and 3 following teaching hours from My Cooperate Teacher. Teach Jo-Anne is what I call her. She is the homeroom teacher at level 1 Docility grade, so every morning before teaching other classes. Teach Jo-Anne to always enter the first period in the Grade 1 Docility class to provide direction to the students. Next, I joined Teach Jo-Anne to teach several Grade 1 and 3 classes.

In the first class, the teacher starts the lesson with prayer. After that, the teacher invited me to introduce myself to the students. They were very accepting and welcomed me very well. After that, the teacher again explains the topic that will be studied. During the lesson, I observed that the students were very enthusiastic in asking questions, answering questions, and being active. They are very brave and not afraid if the answer is wrong. Learning in one subject lasts 50 minutes and I can attend classes for 3 hours per day. In the second class, the teacher also gave me the opportunity to introduce myself and the learning stages were almost the same as the previous class.

CLOSING CEREMONY After the Grand Demo, my friends and I returned to the Dormitory to prepare for the performance that we would present at the Closing Ceremony. At 15.30 we left for the College of Education to attend the Closing Ceremony, it doesn't feel like it's ending so soon it feels like just yesterday we came to the Philippines and today we will hold the Closing Ceremony with our supervisors, IO, Cooperating Teachers, and Buddies. We convey the feelings and things we have gained while staying and doing activities here. I am very grateful and grateful to UST and DSM who have accepted us very well and helped us in the process of becoming better. Many thanks to UST and DSM. Activities in UST, Manila, Philippines

  COURTESY VISIT WITH THE DIRECTOR OF UST OFFICE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND AFFAIRS After finishing DSM, I went to the College of Education to meet with the Director of International Relations and Affairs at the UST Office which is located in the main building. We were very well welcomed by them and chatted a lot about how our day in Manila was. They also gave us souvenirs in the form of hats and books. How happy and proud it is to meet such great people DINNER AT BARBARA' AND CULTURAL SHOW   September 19, 2023 Today at 05.00 pm we went to the restaurant to have dinner together with the dean and international office staff. My friends and I went to the College of Education. We went to a restaurant called “Barbara's”. The place is very nice and very aesthetic. There are lots of traditional Filipino foods there and many other types of food. I felt very happy and excited and took some food to taste.
