COURTESY VISIT WITH THE DIRECTOR OF UST OFFICE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND AFFAIRS

After finishing DSM, I went to the College of Education to meet with the Director of International Relations and Affairs at the UST Office which is located in the main building. We were very well welcomed by them and chatted a lot about how our day in Manila was. They also gave us souvenirs in the form of hats and books. How happy and proud it is to meet such great people

DINNER AT BARBARA' AND CULTURAL SHOW

September 19, 2023

Today at 05.00 pm we went to the restaurant to have dinner together with the dean and international office staff. My friends and I went to the College of Education. We went to a restaurant called “Barbara's”. The place is very nice and very aesthetic. There are lots of traditional Filipino foods there and many other types of food. I felt very happy and excited and took some food to taste. I took a lot of Filipino sweet foods and the taste really suited my taste buds.

While we were eating, there were Filipino cultural performances in the form of traditional dances, one of which was Tinikling. They performed the dance very well and professionally. So it adds a complete and memorable feel to this evening. After we ate, we took photos together to capture this special moment tonight.

COURTESY VISIT IN THE VANGUARD ACADEMY

September 20, 2023

Today I received information that classes will be held online so I don't need to go to school this morning. I carried out virtual class observations from our dorm. Even though online learning is implemented, the class is very conducive and runs very well. After online classes, at 10.30 am my friends and I had a courtesy visit scheduled to one of the inclusive schools in Manila. But before we will go to The Vanguard Academy. we went to Hummus Elijah to breakfast. After that, We went accompanied by Ma'am Carmina and our supervisors. Upon arrival at The Vanguard Academy we were lucky to meet the Head of School, Mr. Ericson J. Perez. We were very well welcomed and invited to chat about inclusive education. After chatting, we were also taken on a tour to see the classes and facilities at the school. The school also consists of kindergarten, grade level, to adult. A very good inclusive school.

LIBRARY TOUR

Miguel De Benavides Library, UST

September 21, 2023

Today after returning from observation at school, my friends and I went to the library to do a library tour at the UST central library, the name is the Miguel De Benavides Library, UST. We went to the library at 13.00 and met Mr. Symon Lagao. He helped and explained to us the entire contents of the library. We were invited to see the process of repairing old books that had been damaged. There are lots of books there from several centuries ago. We were also shown the first collection of printed books, processing them into digital books, and touring the library whose contents were very complete. I felt happy to be able to visit there because I got a lot of knowledge and interesting things.

FILIPINO CLASS

September 26, 2023

Today, my friends and I had a Filipino Class at the College of Education together with Mr. Alvin Ringgo Reyes. We learned many things about the Philippines. Starting from historical stories, popular destinations, languages, and many other things. I feel very enthusiastic and happy when learning Filipino. The Filipino language is known as Tagalog. Sometimes I find vocabulary that has the same pronunciation and has the same meaning as Indonesian. We were taught Filipino and tried to introduce ourselves briefly using Filipino. After studying in Filipino Class, my friends and I were invited to buy a sweet drink from the Philippines called Halo-Halo. This drink is a kind of Ice Mix but is interesting for its composition. It tastes very sweet and fresh, I love it!

BUY SOUVENIRS AT SM SAN LAZARO, QUIAPO

September 30, 2023

On this day, my friends and I decided to buy some souvenirs and souvenirs to take home to Indonesia. We plan to go to SM San Lazaro and Quiapo before tomorrow to prepare for Demo Teaching. My friends and I left at 09.30 am. We walked to SM San Lazaro, it was very tiring but exciting to see the urban atmosphere in Manila. When we arrived at SM San Lazaro we wandered around and ended up buying some snacks and chocolates to take home. After finishing shopping, we decided to return to the Dormitory using a Tricycle. Tricycle is public transportation that we often encounter in Manila. This is my first time taking public transportation in Manila. It's very exciting even though there is a little fear. But this is really worth trying when you go to Manila. When we arrived at the dorm, we immediately prayed and rested for a while. After that, we went again to Quiapo to shop for souvenirs such as key chains, and ref magnets. To go to Quiapo we rode the Tricycle again. When we got there we immediately shopped a lot for souvenirs. Then we stopped to buy food at Arab Asian Food. We also visited settlements where there were lots of Muslims. We stopped for Maghrib prayers at the Golden Mosque. After that, we returned to the Dormitory and rested. What a tiring day but also fun!
